Tonight at 8:30 p.m. the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) will try to shake off a puzzling loss to the New York Jets last week when they face another also-ran, the Tennessee Titans (2-7), on Monday Night Football. The Steelers are not taking the Titans lightly, as the Jets showed them last Sunday what happens when opponents are underestimated. "It's the NFL, if you don't show up ready to play your type of game, you're going to lose," wide receiver Lance Moore said.
"Our last game was a perfect example of that. We're hot. We came in high and mighty and a team came in and played better than us."
Pittsburgh is developing a trend of playing to the level of their competition, which can hurt them not only in their hunt for a playoff spot, but in their seeding should they reach the postseason. "The ability is there, it's just about going out and doing it," defensive end Cam Heyward said.
"We have to have our focus and mindset on the Titans this week. We can't forget what happened, but we have to move past it. We have to move in the right direction and clean up the stuff that put us in trouble this past week."
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will aim to return to the form he showed in blowout wins over the Colts and Ravens, in which he threw six touchdowns in each. The Titans may be easy marks to get hot again; they rank 21st in the NFL in pass defense. They also might be gashed by running back Le'Veon Bell as well, who will be running at the second-worst rushing defense.
