In August, everyone saw Jon "Bones" Jones start a brawl with Daniel Cormier onstage at the MGM Grand, but that outburst may have just been the latest in a long line of temper control incidents for Jones. Viewers are accustomed to seeing boxers and mixed martial arts fighters get into tussles during weigh-ins and at other pre-fight interactions, but according to an ex-roommate, Jon Jones has a history of such behavior.

New Sponsorship for Jones?

New UFC fighter Colby Covington was a recent guest on the MMA Roasted podcast, and he opened up about rooming with Jones during their time together at Iowa Central Community College, according to a story on Fox Sports.

"We got into a lot of trouble," said Covington. "When you're in a small town in Iowa, a lot of kids are farm kids and they always wanted to start some stuff with the wrestlers and I was a national champ in college and Jon was a national champ, so they'd always try to pick fights at our house parties and stuff. We would just clear out the place of a bunch of townies."

Covington went on to mention that Jones would go so far as to throw other people through windows during the brawls, saying, "It was nuts. He has a bad temper, when he gets man - he gets mad." Jones has not responded to the stories regarding any past temper issues, but they would certainly explain why he has such intensity about him during his matches. Daniel Cormier has no doubt heard the stories, and he may want to reconsider his statements about offering Jones an immediate rematch if he wins the title following the January bout between the two.
