The college football season is headed down to the wire, and there are some fantastic games in Saturday's Week 13 slate. As expected, everybody's thoughts will be looking towards the inaugural college football playoff. A quartet of SEC teams will continue to battle for their shot at a final four postseason berth, while the defending champs will be looking to make a statement after receiving a big time snub from the selection committee.

Here are three must-see games for college football's week 13.

Florida State (3) vs. Miami

The defending-champion Seminoles are undefeated, and yet fell in the playoff rankings this week, being leap-frogged for the No. 2 spot by the one-loss Oregon Ducks. No doubt the selection committee was penalizing FSU for the noticeable lack of urgency they've displayed in the first half of recent games. I predict that their demotion will motivate Florida State, and they'll come out ready to play vs. in-state rival Miami for all four quarters. Final Score: FSU 35, Miami 21.

Auburn (9) vs. Georgia (15)

This is a great matchup between two-loss SEC teams that are hoping to keep whatever slim chances they have of a final four playoff berth alive. The loser will demonstrably be out of the running. My pick for this game is Georgia at home. The Bulldogs are getting back star playmaker Todd Gurley after the running back was suspended in early October for NCAA violations. Auburn, meanwhile, will be sporting a hangover after their improbable upset loss to Texas A&M last week. Final Score: Georgia 27, Auburn 21

Mississippi State (1) vs. Alabama (5)

This has real potential to be the game of the year in college football. Even though the Bulldogs are the No. 1 team in the nation, it's actually the Crimson Tide that are eight-point favorites (the game is going down in Tuscaloosa). QB Dak Prescott and the rest of the Mississippi St. offense is rolling but their secondary is an Achilles heel. They're only 120th in pass defense, which doesn't bode well for them considering Alabama has the most talented receiver in the nation with Amari Cooper. If Cooper is able to get open early and often, this'll be a long day for the Bulldogs. Final Score: Alabama 21, Mississippi State 17.
