Pittsburgh is coming off of a 6-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres that saw captain Sidney Crosby pick up five assists and Patric Hornqvist notch two goals.

"I didn't realize until the end of the game that he had five assists on the first five goals, but any time you have a night like that, it's quite a night," Penguins coach Mike Johnston said, according to NHL.com. "You could see he was playing both ends of the rink though tonight."

Crosby leads the NHL with 17 assists and 24 points this season. Hornqvist is second on the Penguins with 18 points off of nine tallies and nine helpers. Evgeni Malkin is third on the team with 17 points off of six goals and 11 assists.

The Rangers had a rough weekend, dropping a 5-4 decision to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday and then losing 3-1 to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.

"I felt prior to the weekend that we were on the right track. This game has a funny way of kicking you right where you least expect it sometimes," coach Alain Vigneault told NHL.com.

Carl Hagelin scored the lone goal for New York in the loss on Sunday, notching his fourth tally of the season.

New York forward Rick Nash is tied for the NHL lead with 11 goals and leads the Rangers with 14 points. Derick Brassard is second on the team with 12 points off of five goals and seven assists while Martin St. Louis has four tallies and seven helpers to rank third on the team with 11 points.
