Tonight at 8 p.m. ET, the Detroit Red Wings (6-3-3, 15 points) and New York Rangers (5-4-2, 12 points) face-off live from Madison Square Garden in New York City for the first of three meetings this season. The game can be live streamed for free here. Detroit fans can hear all of the action on 97.1 The Ticket while New York fans can do the same on 98.7 ESPN Radio.

Detroit closes out a three-game road trip after dropping the first two matches while New York has dealt with several injuries and closes out a four-game homestand it is 1-2 on.

The Red Wings will play their second game in as many nights after falling 3-1 to the Senators Tuesday night in Ottawa.

Mike Babcock was upset with his team's effort Tuesday night and hopes that it will do better in tonight's Original Six matchup.

"We saw urgency from [the Senators]," Babcock told NHL.com "I thought they played good and I thought we were as bad as we could be. I haven't seen us like that this year. You don't like to see many games like that. It's disappointing obviously."

Henrik Zetterberg scored the only goal for Detroit, which was his fourth of the year and he leads the team with 15 points. Justin Abdelkader and Pavel Datsyuk each have five markers and five helpers to rank tied for second on the Red Wings with 10 points.

The injury-depleted Rangers fell to the St. Louis Blues 4-3 in a shootout Monday night at Madison Square Garden, but they are likely to have a few of their players back.

While New York is missing several players, forward Mats Zuccarello (undisclosed) and defenseman Kevin Klein (foot contusion) are expected to return to the lineup.

"It's one of those things that obviously I have taken lots of shots off the feet in past years and you hope it's not broken, that you can come back quickly," Klein said of the foot injury via NHL.com. "I'm able to do that, which is really nice. I felt good out there."

Offensively, Rick Nash paces the Rangers in goals (9) and points (12) while Derick Brassard has four markers and five helpers for nine points and Martin St. Louis is third on the team with eight points by lighting the lamp three times and adding five helpers.

In net, New York is slated to turn to Henrik Lundqvist, who is 5-3-1 with a 2.85 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage.

On the second night of a back-to-back Jonas Gustavsson is the probable starter for Detroit. Gustavsson is 1-1-0 this season and has yielded three goals on 46 shots.

Both teams look to avoid three-game losing streaks when the puck drops on the Red Wings and Rangers tonight live from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
