Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is hoping to start Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars at London's Wembley Stadium and the signal caller said his back injury was not hampered by the nine-hour flight overseas.

Injury Update On Packers QB Aaron Rodgers

Romo and the Cowboys are optimistic that he will be healthy enough to play under center Sunday afternoon and the quarterback was happy the flight showed no ill effects on his back.

"The flight was fine," Romo told ESPN. "I slept. It went by quick and that part of it was no problem."

Romo is hoping to help the Cowboys (6-3) bounce back from two straight losses and to return to the lineup after sitting out the team's 28-17 Week 9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Romo missed the game because he is dealing with two transverse process fractures in his back.

Romo, 34, said the injury is feeling better as Dallas awaits a Week 10 matchup with the lowly Jaguars (1-8).

"It's progressing," Romo said. "Each day it gets a little bit of improvement, and I think that you just keep trying to figure out what you're able to do each day and then you go on to the next day. We'll figure out if we're able to improve enough to be ready to go."

Romo hasn't practiced on a Tuesday since Week 2 due to the Cowboys looking to not over exert his surgically repaired back. Romo did partake in a walk-through on Tuesday and lightly tossed passes to school kids as part of a Play 60 event.

Romo said everything was "good" after Tuesday's activities, but the decision over whether or not he plays will come down to pain tolerance. Jacksonville may be in the midst of a forgettable season, but the team also ranks third in the league with 27 sacks this season.

Romo brushed off the need to worry about being sacked against the Jaguars on Sunday.

"If I can functionally do what I need to do to help our football team, that's what will make the decision," Romo said. "It won't be based off how they play defense in that manner."

Through eight starts this season, Romo is 165-for-242 (68.2 percent) for 1,998 yards with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Dallas dropped its opening game to the San Francisco 49ers before rattling off six straight victories with the help of strong play from Romo and then it lost two consecutive games to get to this point.

Now, the season takes the Cowboys overseas to London and the team hopes that Romo will be healthy enough to lead them out of a two-game funk against the Jaguars.
