Two clubs in opposite halves of the Premier League table will do battle today in a league match between Newcastle United and Liverpool. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew (via BBC): "I do know what I'm doing. I think I've had most of the scalps as Newcastle manager, maybe except Arsenal, and I look forward to playing them. It's important for us that we just keep this momentum going."
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers (via Liverpool Echo): "It's a really exciting week, and that's the key. Newcastle will be a tough game, but one that we will relish and that's the only focus really. We will look to get the three points and go from there. We will come into the Newcastle game with big confidence. We had an excellent result the other night [against Swansea City in the League Cup], and we played as well as we've done all season in the first half."
