Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is receiving criticism this season despite the Eagles' 5-2 start to the year for not being as accurate as he was in 2013 when he took over for Michael Vick. After throwing two interceptions in 13 games as season ago, 10 of which he started, Foles has been picked off nine times in seven outings this year.

"I have to do a better job," Foles said, taking responsibility and not blaming the inconsistencies of an injury-plagued offensive line. "Words can't describe it. I have to keep working on fundamentals, footwork and decision-making. I'm going to keep studying film and keep working. It's all correctable and I can fix it. My words don't mean anything. I have to go out there and prove it."

Foles has also gotten little help from the running game, which was a staple of Philadelphia's fast-paced offense in 2013. LeSean McCoy has shown signs of life lately, but has yet to have a breakout game aside from a 149 performance in Week 6 that yielded no touchdowns.

McCoy may find it tough sledding this week against a Texans defense that is slowly improving vs. the run, and should involve rookie Jadeveon Clowney more heavily.

"I think he'll be in there a little bit more," coach Bill O'Brien said. "We'll see how he feels throughout the week. I think it's still a process of not being out there for whatever it was, seven weeks, and now coming back. I don't think he's ready to play 80 plays in a game, but I think we can keep working him in there more."
