Galatasaray put another season in the bag by beating Sivasspor 4-2 in Istanbul and winning their 19th league title. Following archrival Fenerbahce's 2-0 defeat to Istanbul BB, Galatasaray capitalized on the chance to go from 18 to 19 titles, and gave former Chelsea striker Dider Drogba, the chance to celebrate another league title in another country.

Drogba played for 90 minutes, and teammate Wesley Sneijder played less than one hour. Both players made their season debut this year in Champions League after being signed over from Chelsea and Inter Milan, respectively.

Both players being Champions League winners in their former clubs in 2010 and 2012 so they were brought in with high hopes of reinforcing Galatasaray's offensive line. The players did not disappoint, becoming a vital part of their starting 11, and taking them into the quarterfinals of the Champions League, only to be eliminated by Real Madrid.

Manager Terim Terim was banned for nine matches in April for criticizing the referee during their league match against Mersin Idmanyurudu and as a result was unable to be present for the victory.

Galatasaray find themselves 10-points clear at the top with only two games left to play in the season.
