Michael Jordan doesn't have a Twitter of his own, so on Tuesday he took control of the Charlotte Hornets account to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at his daily routine.

The Hornets owner and greatest NBA player of all-time opened the "#MJTakeover" with a joke referencing the first time he returned from retirement:

Later, the 51-year-old Jordan showed he was technology-savvy by taking a selfie to show fans it was really him doing the tweeting:

But the response to his picture weren't too favorable as Twitter users commented on everything from his weight to his office accessories:

It probably wasn't the response Jordan and the Hornets were hoping for when they first decided to launch this campaign, but it probably won't affect Jordan's morale. After all, he was a great trash-talker during his career and since it's his first time using Twitter he does need a lesson in dealing with Internet trolls. He also showed off some Hornets sneakers, all of them obviously Jordan-brand:

Jordan and Charlotte fans have a lot to be excited about this season as the Hornets are considered to be a sleeper team in the Eastern Conference. Led by young point guard Kemba Walker and veteran big-man Al Jefferson, Charlotte bolstered its roster by adding shooting guard Lance Stephenson over the offseason. Stephenson is a do-it-all player who will definitely facilitate the Hornets' offense.

Charlotte will open the season at home against Milwaukee on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
