The parents of Reeva Steenkamp are not done expressing their heartbreak over the last 21 months. But their claims are extreme.

From losing their daughter to the sentence their daughter's killer received, June and Barry Steenkamp are revealing the anguish that Oscar Pistorius has caused them.

They would be such sympathetic figures, if only they weren't taking money from Pistorius almost the entire time since Reeva's death.

June Steenkamp has written a book, "Reeva: A Mother's Story," an excerpt of which was revealed by The Times Magazine of South Africa.

In the book, June Steenkamp calls Pistorius "volatile" and "trigger-happy," saying "sooner or later he would have killed someone."

The Steenkamps reiterated their position that justice was not done when Pistorius, the double-amputee Olympic sprinter, was sentenced to five years for culpable homicide after shooting and killing Reeva Steenkamp in the early morning hours of Valentine's Day, 2013.

Reports indicate Pistorius could serve as little as 10 months if he exhibits good behavior.

'It was Reeva's bad luck that she met him, because sooner or later he would have killed someone. I do believe that,' she said in an interview with The Times Magazine, as reported by the Daily Mail.

June Steenkamp, 68, said she did not believe Pistorius' story that he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder in their home, describing him as "vague, shifty and evasive."

June also went on to claim that Reeva had not been intimate with Pistorius.

"She had confided to me that she hadn't slept with him," June Steenkamp said of her daughter. "They'd shared a bed, but she was scared to take the relationship to that level ... She wouldn't want to sleep with Oscar if she wasn't sure. I believe their relationship was coming to an end. In her heart of hearts, she didn't think it was making either of them happy."

That statement is almost as bizarre as the fact that was revealed in court during Pistorius' sentencing hearing that he had been making monthly payments to Reeva's parents ever since her death. They proudly proclaimed turning down a lump sum from Pistorius.

That saddest part of the whole ordeal is that it appears that none of the figures left alive deserve much sympathy.
