Vonn Without Tiger: Lindsey Vonn Arrives Solo At NYC Event

Lindsey Vonn attended the Delete Blood Cancer Gala in New York City last night without the company of her boyfriend Tiger Woods, according to the New York Post. The heavily publicized relationship gained national attention when the now-No.1 ranked golfer in the world and the world champion skier announced their relationship status via social media.

Vonn was asked where Woods was and told E! News, "He's practicing." Woods is scheduled to participate in the Players Championship next week. The injured skiing champion also gained attention for her appearance at the event due to the fact that she was able to walk her first red carpet without a knee brace.

"I'm still in rehab, things are going really well. The knee is coming along quite nicely. But I should start skiing in September and everything's right on track for the Olympics in February," she told E! The Olympic skier injured herself in a horrific fall during this year's World Championships.

"I just dumped the brace. This is my first trip without the brace, so I'm really excited. But, unfortunately my doctor wants me to ski with it for a while, so still gonna be difficult. I can't get rid of it entirely, unfortunately."

Since announcing his relationship with Vonn, Woods has seen an improvement in his golf game. The fourteen-time Major champion regained his world No. 1 ranking on March 25, 2013, after winning the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational.

During his heavily publicized affair scandal in 2009, the most dominant golfer in the world saw a significant drop off in his play, falling as low as the No. 58 overall ranking in November 2011. Woods snapped a career-long winless streak of 107 weeks when he captured the Chevron World Challenge in December 2011.

Woods did, however, fall short of a heavily favored Masters win after a controversial tournament performance. He ended the tourney at -5 for fifth place.
