The WWE and Superstar Rey Mysterio have been at a standstill with Mysterio reportedly wanting to leave the company and the organization renewing his contract, but an official in Mexico's AAA promotion believes the two-time World Heavyweight Champion is done with the WWE.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, former WWE announcer Hugo Savinovich, who currently works backstage for AAA, recently said that Mysterio is done with the WWE and is waiting for his contract to expire to jump ship to AAA.

The WWE wants Mysterio back on television, and he should be good to go after dealing with a hand injury, but it appears as though he doesn't want to come back to the company.

It was revealed earlier this year that the WWE re-signed Mysterio to a one-year deal against his will reportedly due to a clause that the company has in all contracts where it has the right to renew the pacts for another year if a talent misses significant time.

Mysterio may never get to wrestle for AAA because the WWE can keep renewing his deal, though if it doesn't want to pay him for nothing it may be easier to cut ties.

Mysterio has missed a lot of time over the years due to various injuries, and the WWE used the clause on him due to the feeling that he owed it time.

Mysterio reportedly was looking to leave the organization, but it's likely the WWE renewed his deal because the company felt he owed them time while it also kept him out of AAA.

It has been reported over the last few months that the WWE is trying to keep Mysterio out of the AAA promotion and the two have been in a dispute over the renewal of his contract ever since.

Reports surfaced earlier this year that Mysterio had a handshake agreement with Triple H for the two sides to part ways, but this deal was broken up by Vince McMahon after he chose to use the option on Mysterio's contract.

Mysterio appeared in a vignette during AAA's TripleMania XII event on Aug. 17 that aired on the same night as WWE's SummerSlam and he congratulated the promotion on 22 years of success and told the fans he'd see them soon, likely hinting at his desire to jump ship from the WWE.

At the end of the video, there was a graphic that said #FreeRey, alluding to his contract freeze with the WWE. The organization was reportedly very angry over the vignette.

Recently fired WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio appeared on the show under the ring name El Patron. Del Rio was fired after he allegedly slapped a WWE social media worker very hard after he heard that the employee made some racist comments about him.

Mysterio hasn't appeared on WWE television since the Monday Night RAW episode after WrestleMania XXX in early April, and it appears he isn't willing to come back to the company at all.
