Indiana Pacers star forward Paul George looks to be recovering well after suffering a gruesome leg injury in a Team USA scrimmage a few months ago.

George took to his Instagram on Tuesday to show his progress after suffering a compound fracture in his right leg in August, playing a game of one-on-one with his dog. The video shows the young star moving pretty well, but gingerly, on his leg. His crossover and ball-handling skills seem to be in-tact and it looks like he's taking the recovery process in stride:

On Monday the Pacers shared a video, which can be seen at the bottom of the page, of George shooting jumpers after practice. He received medical clearance to put weight on the leg and engage in upper-body in late September, according to ESPN. Despite the serious injury, the 24-year-old George still has hopes of playing during the upcoming NBA season.

George averaged 21.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.9 steals last year and led Indiana to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight season. He was named to the All-NBA third team for the second straight year and earned his first selection to the All-Defensive First Team. The two-time All-Star has not missed more than three games in any season since the start of 2011-12.

Indiana will likely struggle this season in George's absence as there is no one on the roster capable of duplicating his all-around production. The Pacers lost shooting guard Lance Stephenson to free agency during the offseason, creating another blow to their roster. With teams like the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers adding key players over the summer, it's hard to see Indiana as a contender in the East this season.
