Tony Stewart has been known as the "bad boy" of NASCAR throughout his career, so it came as no surprise that he was involved in the post-race skirmish at Charlotte Motor Speedway last weekend.

But this time Stewart was hardly responsible for what happened. Brad Keselowski attempted to spin Denny Hamlin after the race in response to an earlier incident, but Hamlin ended up taking out Matt Kenseth. Stewart happened to get involved in the antics and then retaliated by backing his Chevy into Keselowski's car in retaliation for starting the whole thing. Kenseth then approached Keselowski in the garage and put him in a headlock before the two were separated.

Keselowski was fined $50,000 and Stewart was fined $25,000 while Kenseth escaped any penalty. Many believe Stewart's actions weren't worthy of a fine, but it's not like he isn't a stranger to post-race controversies. Here are five notable previous incidents Stewart was involved in:

Stewart vs. Brian Vickers, 2004

Stewart got into an altercation with Vickers at Sonoma in June of 2004 that led to him being placed on probation. "He hit the armrest and he reached in the car and he grabbed me in the chest and when he did, (he) hit me," Vickers said, according to SportingNews.com.

Stewart vs. Robby Gordon, 2000

Stewart and Gordon got into it during a Speedweeks race at Daytona in February 2000. Stewart ended up slapping Gordon during a confrontation in the garage. The fight begins at the 18:45 mark of the video below:

Stewart vs Joey Logano, 2013

Stewart and Logano got into it at Auto Club Speedway in March last year. Water bottles were thrown during a confrontation on pit road after Logano blocked Stewart on the racetrack:

Stewart vs. Matt Kenseth, 2012

After Stewart and Kenseth crashed into each other at Bristol in August 2012, Stewart famously threw his helmet at Kenseth's car on pit road:

Stewart vs. Kurt Busch, 2013

Stewart and Busch got into a skirmish following a race at Richmond in May 2013 in which they repeatedly banged their cars into each other during the cool-down laps. The two have a history, getting into confrontations at Dover in 2007 and Daytona in 2008.
