Tonight at 10 p.m. ET, the Minnesota Wild (2-0-0, four points) and Anaheim Ducks (3-1-0, six points) faceoff for the first of three meetings this season live from the Honda Center in Anaheim. The game can be live steamed here. Minnesota fans can hear all of the action on KFAN 100.3 while Anaheim fans can do the same on KLAA 830.
Minnesota finally returns to action for the first time in six days after sweeping a home-and-home from the Colorado Avalanche to kick off the 2014-15 season while Anaheim comes home for the first time after winning three of four games on a season-opening road trip in search of a fourth straight win.
The Wild have yet to allow a goal through two games, notching 5-0 and 3-0 wins over Colorado and will look to continue their success.
Zack Parise has been solid thus far notching two goals and two assists for four points through two games while defenseman Ryan Suter has a tally and two helpers for three points thus far.
Minnesota's five-day break may have come too early in the season for the team's liking.
"I think once you start playing, you want to keep going," Parise told the St. Cloud Times. "It would have been nice to have this break later in the season when you get a little more tired."
The Ducks have been led by their 1-2 punch of captain Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry thus far this season while newcomer Ryan Kesler has been a spark in the early going of his Anaheim career.
Getzlaf (two goals, four assists) and Perry (four tallies, two helpers) each lead Anaheim with six points apiece while Kesler is third on the team with five points by way of lighting the lamp twice and adding three assists.
The Ducks deep-scoring unit will look to solve Wild netminder Darcy Kuemper, who at 24 became the youngest goaltender to ever record a shutout in each of his first two games in NHL history. Kuemper has saved all 46 shots he's faced thus far this season.
The probable starter in the crease for the Ducks is Frederik Andersen, who has started three of the team's four games and has yielded six goals on 83 shots while winning all three of his decisions.
Anaheim took two of three from Minnesota in their meetings last season.
The Wild look to improve to 3-0 while the Ducks hope to notch a fourth straight victory when the puck drops on these two teams live tonight from the Honda Center in Anaheim.
