25-year-old Argentinean striker Gonzalo Higuain will leave the Santiago Bernabeu in the upcoming transfer market to allow two new strikers to join Karim Benzema in the offensive line of Los Merengues, according to reports.

"In a big club like Real Madrid, it is assumed there is space for two or three high-level No.9s. It was Benzema and Higuain. Higuain will go, Benzema will stay, and two others will arrive," Sanchez told Le 10 Sport.

Higuain's departure could pave the way for very big names to join Real Madrid. The club has been in talks with huge names like Sergio Aguero, Edinson Cavani, Radamel Falcao, Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale.

Real Madrid's director of football, former Madrid star and France World Cup winner Zinadene Zidane has stated that Madrid will not be put off by a high price tag and will pay what is needed to strengthen the attacking line of Los Blancos.

As for Higuain, he has been linked with growing teams that need reinforcements, such as Napoli, Spurs or Manchester City.

Higuain has played for Real Madrid since 2007, where he was bought from Buenos Aires side River Plate and has managed to score 104 goals in 185 appearances for Madrid.

Higuain has 14 goals this season, but has been inconsistent this season, struggling to keep a place in the starting eleven alongside Karim Benzema.
