QPR Transfer News: Harry Redknapp to Be Sacked, Tim Sherwood a Replacement Option

Seven matches into the Premier League season, Queens Park Rangers are dwelling at the bottom of the table with four points. Destined for relegation, the club is considering drastic measures to salvage its season. According to the Telegraph (via Goal Transfer Talk), QPR players fear that manager Harry Redknapp will be sacked in the coming days.

Per the report, former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood is linked as a successor.

Center-back Rio Ferdinand came out in support of his boss, proclaiming the season to be too young to consider a change. "We are not even in double figures for the amount of games played yet," the 35-year-old told the Evening Standard (via the Mirror). "To push the panic button now would be crazy in my eyes. Harry still comes across to me as a fighter and a man with a lot of fight left in him. He wants to get the club out of this situation we're in. It's not for the lack of trying."

"No one wants to see their manager get sacked," he added. "It was not nice to see it happen to David Moyes at Manchester United last season, and I wouldn't want to see it here. It's down to us as players, as well as the coaching staff, to start turning results around."

QPR have only obtained one out of a possible 12 points in their last four matches, being outscored 10-3 in the process. A visit from Liverpool awaits them at the weekend. Another shock result will inevitably turn the players' fears into a reality.
