Mayweather vs Guerrero Fight: Desperate Times

Try as he might, to distance himself from the night of Sept. 9, 2010, Floyd Mayweather just can’t seem to put the day fully behind him

Josie Harris, Mayweather’s former longtime girlfriend and the mother of his three young children, is now going public about the night the world’s best pound-for-pound brawler attacked and mercilessly beat her, ultimately leading to him spending several months in a Las Vegas jail for domestic violence.

As he readies himself for this week’s defense of his welterweight title against four-time champion Robert Guerrero, Mayweather himself recently spoke of that night during the “30 Days  in May” show where some have contended he attempted to rationalize his behavior.

One of those people was Harris, who in turn decided to speak with Yahoo! Sports where she lambasted the champ’s insinuation that she and her children had lied about his actions that night.

"Did he beat me to a pulp, no but I had bruises on my body and contusions and a concussion because the hits were to the back of my head.” Harris told Yahoo. “I believe it was planned to do that … because the bruises don't show."

Throughout his Showtime show, Mayweather deemed the charges "over-exaggerated" and "trumped up," and his teams of handlers went as far as to argue no harm at all was inflicted on Harris.

"This judicial system is really messed up," said Mayweather's current partner, Shantel "Miss" Jackson, added in the documentary. "How can someone who really didn't do anything have to suffer a consequence for something of this magnitude? It really does anger me, because how can a lie get so far?"

The altercation occurred when the boxer known as “Pretty Boy” returned to Harris' home on the night in question and an argument ensued over the man she is now dating. Harris says she was asleep on the living room couch when she woke up to Mayweather, holding her cell phone, yelling at her about text messages from NBA guard C.J. Watson.

"I'm going to kill you and the man you are messing around with," Harris told police. "I'm going to have you both disappear," Harris told police Mayweather screamed.
