Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, the Toronto Maple Leafs (0-2-0, 0 points) and New York Rangers (1-1-0, two points) faceoff live from Madison Square Garden in New York City. The game can be live streamed here. Toronto fans can hear all of the action on TSN 1050 while New York fans can do the same on 98.7 WEPN.
Toronto is in search of its first win after dropping its first two games at home to kick off the 2014-15 campaign while New York is playing in its home opener after defeating the St. Louis Blues on Opening Night and losing to the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday.
Both teams had rough Saturday nights as the Maple Leafs lost 5-2 to the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Rangers fell to the Blue Jackets by the same margin.
Tyler Bozak notched his second goal of the season in Saturday's loss for Toronto while Joffrey Lupul found the back of the net for his first goal of the campaign.
Rick Nash scored his third goal of the season in the Rangers' loss while forward Anthony Duclair picked up his first-career NHL point on an assist and Lee Stempniak found twine for the first time as a Blueshirt.
Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle is hopeful to get his first line of Phil Kessel, Bozak and James van Riemsdyk going.
"When the tide of the hockey game swung so hard against our hockey club, we didn't have much of a response," the coach told NHL.com. "You look to those big guys on your team to be able to grab it back for you. And right now, in these two games they've had some difficulty doing that."
The Rangers are looking to have a better effort than the one they put forth Saturday night.
"It was tough to see the goals the way they scored them," captain Ryan McDonagh said per NHL.com. "That's a good lesson for us. We can't expect to win without playing our 'A' game."
New York took two of three from Toronto last season and the goaltending matchup is expected to be Henrik Lundqvist for the Blueshirts and James Reimer for the Leafs.
The Maple Leafs look for their first win of the season while the Rangers hope to have a solid home opener when these teams take the ice tonight live from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
