Two nations looking to return to form will do battle today in an international friendly between Chile and Peru. The match scheduled for 7 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Elias Figueroa Brander in Valparaiso and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on beIN Sports.
Peru striker Paolo Guerrero had this to offer ahead of today's international encounter (via Goal): "Our team has been getting stronger and it's important to have good results. We had two good games in Asia and want to make a great match with Chile and, if possible, win. This team is gradually maturing."
Peru failed to qualify for the 2014 World Cup and is anticipating a better campaign during the 2018 cycle. By contrast, Chile is looking to solidify a program that reached the Round of 16 in Brazil. Both teams will have an opportunity to send the rest of CONMEBOL a message with a victory on Friday.
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: The club future of Chile's Arturo Vidal remains very much a mystery. The 27-year-old has only featured once for Juventus this season and is yet to open his account in Serie A. A box-to-box midfielder, Vidal will look to control the central part of the pitch on his home soil.
Chile's Projected Lineup (3-4-3): Bravo; Medel, Jara, Rojas; Isla, Aránguiz, Diaz, Beausejour; Vidal; Sánchez, Vargas
Peru's Projected Lineup (4-3-3): Fernandez; Yotún, Callens, Zambrano, Advincula; Cruzado, Ballon, Ascues; Vargas, Guerrero, Carrillo
