Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had taken flack prior to last week's Sunday Night Football drubbing of the Cincinnati Bengals for his lack of big numbers, and the Patriots' underwhelming overall output. That changed last week though, as Brady torched Cincy for 292 yards and two touchdowns with a 65 percent completion rate.

Pats head coach Bill Belichick said the team rallied around Brady in an effort to shut down the criticism being hurled his way. "When you had the result that we had (against the Chiefs) as a team, I think everybody rallied around each other," Belichick said. "I mean, who else is there to rally around? That's all we have: guys that can go out there and play and make a difference.

"I think we've played hard a lot this year, but we were able to execute things a little bit better. Of course, there was more emotion and energy as we were making plays."

The Bills were able to notch their third win of the year as well with veteran Kyle Orton making his first start for Buffalo. "He made some throws," coach Doug Marrone said. "I think it started off a little bit tough for someone just getting back in there again, but I thought he played well."

Orton finished the OT win over Detroit with 308 yards and a touchdown vs. the second ranked pass defense in the NFL, and No. 1 D overall per FootballOutsiders.com.
