Two nations looking to return to form will do battle today in an international friendly between Oman and Costa Rica. The match scheduled for 10 a.m. ET will be held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in the Boshar district of Muscat and can be live streamed here free.
Costa Rica head coach Paulo Wanchope had this to offer ahead of today's international fixutre (via Soccerway): "Our idea is to keep winning and playing well to maintain the good image that has been dragging from Brazil. I think this is the right time to give young players the opportunity to be displayed."
"Within a year or two, we have to make changes in some areas," he added. "Hence, the idea to provide the future coach a number of options to choose."
One of the young players projected to feature in the present and future is Alajuelense's Johan Venegas. The 25-year-old featured in Costa Rica's chase for the 2014 Centroamericana, playing a prominent role in Wanchope's 4-2-3-1 system. He'll look to do more of the same in Oman this afternoon.
