Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver A.J. Green was carted off the practice field Wednesday after re-aggravating a toe injury that dates back to the Bengals first game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Green went to practice Wednesday and left soon after he felt pain in the toe. Green was visibly upset at the injury and slammed his cleat and helmet in frustration.

“Green walked over to the side of the practice fields and took off his right cleat before throwing it hard to the ground and slamming down his helmet, too. He was clearly frustrated with the injury, which dates back to the season opener in Baltimore.

After speaking briefly with coach Marvin Lewis, Green put his shoe back on and got on a green cart with a trainer, who drove him back across the street and into Paul Brown Stadium for immediate observation. As he rode by reporters standing nearby, Green let out an audible sigh.”

Green has 314 yards on 17 catches for the Bengals this season and added two touchdowns in crucial times. Green hasn’t missed a game due to injury in his entire career and has played through the injury to this point.

The Bengals have been battered with injuries thus far this season and are expected to get linebacker Vontaze Burfict and wide receiver Marvin Jones back for this weeks game against the Carolina Panthers.

Green is the No. 5 ranked wide receiver in fantasy football this weekend according to Fantasy Pros consensus rankings.
