The New York Jets are 1-4 and in total disarray, but what does this mean for coach Rex Ryan?
Ryan spoke on his weekly spot on ESPN New York 98.7 FM's "The Michael Kay Show” and said that he knows he is coaching for his job and at this rate he won’t be back with the team next season.

"You're right, if that's the case and we don't get this thing on the right track, I don't think for a minute I'll be here," Ryan said. "I know I won't, but I believe this team will right itself and we'll find a way.”
"If the season ended today, you're probably dead on," he said. "There's no 'probably' about it. But the season is far from over and I think we have time to get this going.”
The Jets are stuck in limbo as they have a head coach that the team adores, but he hasn’t developed any notable offensive talent in his time with the team. The other question is if general manager John Idzik should exit with Ryan.
Ryan’s contract is fully guaranteed only through 2015, but his 2016 salary is based heavily on incentives and can be terminated with little money owed. Rex Ryan has a career record of 43-42 and is also 4-2 in the playoffs, but has not made the postseason since 2010.
Ryan said he understands all the bad press and fan reactions, but asked for patience and for fans to believe this team will turn it around.
"I get it," he said. "When you're 1-4, this is what happens, especially in this market. But I believe in my heart this team is going to be far from an embarrassment when the season is over.”
The Jets host the Denver Broncos this Sunday in the Meadowlands.
