Following reports of mutual interest between the two sides for a potential reunion, the Cleveland Cavaliers and former head coach Mike Brown are currently negotiating a contract, sources told ESPN's Chris Broussard and Brian Windhorst. If a contract is agreed upon, Brown will return to a position he was fired from despite back-to-back 60-win seasons.

ESPN is reporting that Brown was the Cavs' top choice for the job and the only person they interviewed. Cleveland attempted to reach out to Phil Jackson to see if the former coach had any interest in coming out of retirement.

The Cavs are expected to offer Brown a long-term contract that will give him security as he will try to return Cleveland to dominance. Since LeBron James' departure in 2010, the Cavaliers have been under .500 and failed to reach the playoffs each season. Brown led the Cavs to five consecutive playoff appearances from 2005-11.
