Charlotte Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap was fired on Tuesday after just one season with the team, according to ESPN. Dunlap led the Bobcats to a 21-61 record, finishing with the second-worst record in the NBA ahead of only the Orlando Magic.

The Bobcats tripled their seven wins from the 2011-12 lockout shortened season. However, the team finished with a .344 winning percentage, leading Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins to begin the search for a replacement.

"[General manager] Rich Cho and I conducted our season-ending review and met with coach Dunlap to reflect on this season," Higgins told ESPN. "As an organization, it was decided that we needed to make a change with the head coach position."

The next coach to lead the Bobcats will be the third head coach in as many seasons. Owner Michael Jordan is still searching for the right candidate since taking over the team.

Since entering the NBA as an expansion team, the Bobcats have had a total of five coaches. Bernie Bickerstaff went 33-49 in 2006-07. Sam Vincent followed with a 32-50 record from 2007-08. Larry Brown went 88-104 from 2008-2010. Paul Silas went 32-88 from 2010-2012
