Indianapolis Colts safety LaRon Landry was issued a four-game suspension on Monday for a violation of the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, according to ProFootballTalk. Landry took to his Instagram to supposedly proclaim his innocence.

No one should be shocked at the idea of Landry using steroids, as he constantly posts photos displaying his imposing physique and promotes products by MusclePharm:

The way Landry went about denying the allegations was interesting, though, as he did not go with the typical "It wasn't steroids, just an over-the-counter substance" excuse usually reserved for PED violations. After the suspension was announced he posted an optical illusion photo on his Instagram with a caption that read, "Sometimes things aren't always what they appear to be."

The illusion in the photo, which can be seen at the bottom of the page, is that a women's foot can be confused for a male's genital upon first glance. One person commented saying, "Cmon man gotta be smarter," and apparently Landry wised up as he has since deleted the photo after realizing it was potentially inappropriate.

Landry, in his second season in Indianapolis, ranks second on the team with 23 total tackles through the first four games of the season. More of a hard-hitting safety than a ball-hawk, the eight-year veteran has recorded 80 or more total tackles five times and has six career interceptions.

Landry will be eligible to return to the Colts on Oct. 27. The NFL did not announce the specifics of his violation. Fifth-year defensive back Sergio Brown will be his likely replacement.
