Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres continue their preseasons live from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo. The game can be live streamed here. Toronto fans can hear all of the action on TSN 1050 while Buffalo fans can do the same on WGR 550.
Toronto is coming off a season where it went 38-36-8 for 84 points and missed the playoffs for the sixth time in seven seasons while Buffalo finished with an NHL-worst 21-51-10 with a league-low 52 points.
The Maple Leafs boast a top-line that is slated to be anchored by Phil Kessel-Tyler Bozak-James van Riemsdyk while Nazem Kadri-Joffrey Lupul-David Clarkson are slated to round out the top-six.
On defense, the unit is slated to be flanked by captain Dion Phaneuf and new import Stephane Robidas while Jonathan Bernier and James Reimer will battle it out for the starting duties.
Reimer recently stated how much he loves playing for Toronto after getting a rousing ovation at home last time out.
"I've said it a million times: The fans here are unbelievable, and I love playing in this city and I love playing in front of them. Obviously to get a little love, it's great," said Reimer, according to The Toronto Star
The Sabres had a busy offseason, bringing in forwards Matt Moulson and Rochester native Brian Gionta as well as defenseman Andrej Meszaros and Josh Gorges.
The top-six for Buffalo come the regular season will likely consist of a line of Moulson-Cody Hodgson-Drew Stafford and a second line of Sam Reinhart-Tyler Ennis-Chris Stewart.
The defense for the Sabres is still anchored by Gorges and Tyler Myers while Michal Neuvirth and Jhonas Enroth will battle it out for the No. 1 job in net.
The Sabres aren't buying into the doubters as many people have projected them to finish in last place.
"Everyone outside the room doesn't give us much of a chance," Gionta told USA Today. "But our hope and goal is to make the playoffs."
The Maple Leafs and Sabres continue their exhibition slate tonight live from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo.
