There have been ongoing rumors that Sting will wrestle his first match in WWE -- and likely the last match of his career -- ever since it was announced that he'd be in the WWE 2K15 video game, and it appears as though the sides are close to an official deal or a match.

Speculation On John Cena Winning WWE Title With Lesnar Not Slated For RAW

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that Sting's merchandise has been available for over a month now at WWE events and he is expected to be at WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015 and it is likely that he will wrestle a match.

There were rumors that Sting would battle The Undertaker last April at WrestleMania XXX, but the WWE didn't work out a deal with him and Brock Lesnar ended up defeating The Undertaker and ending The Streak which has now put 'Taker's career in jeopardy due to the fact that he was also injured at the event.

Chris Jericho Possibly Appearing On RAW After Night of Champions

Sting has been adamant that he wants to wrestle The Undertaker in what could be the final match of both of their careers and he told Sam Roberts at the WWE 2K15 roster reveal in Los Angeles during SummerSlam weekend that 'Taker losing The Streak wouldn't diminish their potential match.

"No it doesn't diminish things. I did have a moment of, 'Ah it's over, I'll never be able to get in the ring with 'Taker,'" Sting said. "Because he's lost doesn't mean he's done or leaving. I can't imagine 'Taker leaving or being done. I just cannot imagine that. I don't know what's going on with him for sure but man, I think 'Taker vs. Sting doesn't need a Streak storyline. We just need 'Taker and Sting and that's it."

There have been rumors that if and when Sting does appear at WrestleMania 31, it could also come with a Hall of Fame induction for the former WWE icon, who met with Vince McMahon during SummerSlam weekend.

Sting vs. Undertaker may never happen, but it appears that the WWE is closer to having Sting wrestle a match at WrestleMania 31.
