Jose Aldo has long been known as one of the best fighters in the world right now. But does his No. 2-ranking on the UFC's pound-for-pound list get under his skin?

Johny Hendricks' Coach Thinks He Won't Fight Again Until February or March

Aldo is behind only light heavyweight champion Jon Jones on the list, but the UFC featherweight champion feels he should be at the top.

"If you talk about skills, I feel that I'm the best in the world," Aldo told Ag. Fight according to BloodyElbow.com. "But it doesn't mean that I think that I'm invincible and I'm still working to keep being a champion."

Aldo is currently 24-1 and on a 17-fight win streak. He hasn't lost since 2005 and is preparing to make his seventh UFC title defense in October. Even though he feels there is no one better than him, he knows he can't let his position on the pound-for-pound list distract him from the task at hand.

"If I'm the number one or I'm not, this is up to the fans and the media, though I have my opinion," he said. "The important thing is that I'm still evolving as a fighter and I have a lot to improve."

Aldo does have a point, considering he has been one of the most dominant champions since he entered the UFC in 2011. But even though he's looked unstoppable in the octagon, he only has two finishes and has been accused of lacking a killer instinct.

Aldo will face Chad Mendes on Oct. 25 at UFC 179. In their last meeting in 2012, Aldo won by first-round knockout. If he wants to improve his ranking on the pound-for-pound list, he would have to have a repeat performance of their first fight.
