Backstage Update On Bully Ray's TNA Status

Jericho and Orton will battle in a singles match Sunday night at Night of Champions live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and "Y2J" will also appear on Christian's Peep Show segment on the special hour-long pre-show leading up to the event.

Jericho's match with Orton is set to be his last bout on his current stint as he is slated to take a hiatus from the company in order to promote his third book, which is entitled, The Best In The World: At What I Have No Idea. The book is scheduled for release on Oct. 14 and Jericho posted about the release on his Instagram.

"Only one month until the release of "THE BEST IN THE WORLD-AT WHAT I HAVE NO IDEA.", the third book in the Jericho [Trilogy!!]" he wrote, according to Wrestlingheadlines.com in a post that has since appeared to be removed. "If you liked the first two, you'll love this one too, as it contains the same type of astonishing tales and uncanny experiences as the others!!. Jericho returned on the June 30 edition of Monday Night RAW and interrupted the Miz's comeback before Bray Wyatt got involved. Jericho and Wyatt feuded over the course of the summer with Jericho beating him at Battleground on July 20 and Wyatt picking up wins at SummerSlam on Aug. 17 and then in a Steel Cage on the season premiere of Monday Night RAW on Sept. 8 to close the feud.

Jericho -- who has said on his Talk is Jericho podcast that he loves working with Orton -- was then attacked by Orton on the Sept. 8 RAW to set up their match Sunday at Night of Champions.

It remains to be seen when Jericho will return to the WWE again, but he likely won't be seen for a while after Sunday night.
