Since TMZ released video of Ray Rice punching his now-wife, the NFL has come under intense criticism for the way it initially handled the situation. On Sunday, 'SportsCenter' anchor Hannah Storm spoke out against Rice and the NFL.

Storm detailed how difficult the past week has been not only as a football fan, but as a parent. Storm, a mother to three daughters, said she had a hard time explaining the incident to her children.

"On Monday morning, I was genuinely excited to come to work and break down what I thought was a fascinating first weekend in the NFL. Instead, I kicked off ESPN's coverage of the horrific Ray Rice elevator video," she said in the closing segment of Sunday's SportsCenter. "Meanwhile, one of my daughters has her first fantasy football team this season. But at breakfast this week, instead of discussing how her team was doing, we watched the Ray Rice video play out again, in all its ugliness.

Ray Rice Receives a Challenge from the Lingerie Football League

"I spent this week answering seemingly impossible questions about the league's biggest stars: Mom, why did he do that? Why isn't he in jail? Why didn't he get fired? And yesterday: Why don't they even have control of their own players?"

Storm ended her emotional speech by asking "the central question: What exactly does the NFL stand for?"

Rice was initially suspended for two games after video was released in February of a domestic dispute with his then-fiancée. TMZ released the full graphic video of Rice punching her in the face and knocking her out cold. The Baltimore Ravens immediately fired Rice and the NFL followed up with an indefinite suspension.
