It's been more than a month since Christy Mack suffered a brutal assault at the hands of former mixed martial artist War Machine. Mack took to Twitter on Sunday to update her fans on what she's had to go through over the past few weeks.

Mack described her multiple procedures and trips to the dentist and hospital. She also posted a time-lapse of her face over the past few weeks to show the improvements she has made:

Mack said the multiple nose fractures she received are still causing breathing issues. She hopes to regain the feeling in her top lip in six months. She said she's lucky to have her vision as good as it is, "since the muscle is tethered by the fragments from the blowout fracture in my left eye." She did admit that she's still getting used to how her face looks and it is affecting her confidence.

"While my face is starting to look decent from the swelling going down, it is still not my own," she wrote. "Cutting what was left of my hair off, and losing 15 pounds made me feel even further away from myself. It's hard to look in the mirror every day and see someone you do not know."

Mack attended an event on Saturday held by Face Forward, a nonprofit charity that funds surgeries for women and children who suffer abuse and require reconstructive surgeries.

War Machine, born Jonathan Koppenhaver, appeared in Las Vegas court earlier this month to face felony allegations that he assaulted Mack and Corey Thomas. He was denied bail and 31 felony counts, including two counts of attempted murder, for which he plead not guilty. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 17.

According to the police report, Mack, born Christine Mackinday, told detectives that Koppenhaver entered her home using a key he never returned to her and found her and Thomas in bed together. He first assaulted Thomas before turning his attention to her, punching and kicking her repeatedly and threatening to rape her. She was able to escape and seek help when he went to the kitchen to find a knife, the report said.
