Two nations looking to be crowned kings of Central America will do battle today in a Copa Centroamericana match between Panama and Nicaragua. The contest scheduled for 6 p.m. ET will be held at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on Univision Deportes.
For Panama, a plus-four goal differential is required to reach the 2014 Copa Centroamericana final. Anything less would see Costa Rica face the winner of Group B. Nicaragua can now only feature in the role of a spoiler, something Costa Rican players believe they'll embrace.
"I feel like the game against Nicaragua will be a complicated one for Panama," said center-back Pablo Salazar (via Al Dia). "Nicaragua can defend well and the Canaleros [Panama] have to go in search of the result, be offensive and that is where they'll leave themselves open and fall to desperate tactics. That's something that can be favorable for Nicaragua."
Juan Bustos went on to add: "They can do more than what they did against us. They have shown that they can and that their level of play is level with all of us."
