The war of words has continued between former TNA writer and consultant Vince Russo and Spike TV vice president of communications David Schwarz as Russo has fired back on Twitter in response to the network executive's recent comments.

Schwarz responded to Russo's comments that Spike TV -- which is dropping TNA's flagship show Impact Wrestling from its schedule in 2015 -- wasn't a good partner for TNA and that the product couldn't grow on Spike TV.

Schwarz blasted Russo, saying that he was way off base and that no one at Spike TV cares about him. Russo then fired back on Twitter as there have been different reports about Spike TV's opinions of him as many people have blamed the network dropping TNA on Russo's alleged secretive involvement as a consultant with the company.

Did John Cena Bury The Undertaker With Comments On RAW?

"Dear Spike/TNA, Which is it? Spike doesn't know who I am? OR, I caused the Spike/TNA break-up? Please make up your mind-I'm super confused," Russo tweeted in response to Schwarz comments.

He added in another tweet: "I want to thank Mr. Schwarz of Spike TV for giving me the topic of discussion for my podcast, "The Swerve" which will be released tonight."

Schwarz explained to F4WOnline.com why Spike TV was a good partner for TNA by citing the increase in viewership and the network's ability to bend over backwards for the brand as reasons why the partnership was strong and he then touched on Russo's comments.

"I think his comments are way off base," Schwarz said. "Clearly, he doesn't know what he's talking about. He's somebody who thinks more of himself than really exists. Vince Russo never meant anything to Spike TV. He had nothing to do with negotiations. Nobody cares about Vince Russo at Spike TV. Nobody cares or knows who he is. We have a great relationship with TNA. We went above and beyond for them, as they did for us. Dixie helped promote our shows. What Vince Russo is saying is complete nonsense."

Russo caused the reaction when he appeared on Pro Wrestling Report and blasted Spike TV as a partner for TNA.

"I've been holding this back for years and I finally get to say this," Russo said. "I felt like Hannibal Lecter when he was strapped in and had his mouth wired shut. Spike TV is a horrible partner," Russo told the show. "Why TNA would ever want to partner with Spike is beyond me unless there were no other options. If Spike TV were the only option to stay on television then I would understand it. They are a horrible partner, they know nothing about the wrestling business. The way they advertised and marketed the program over the years was absolutely atrocious."

He added: "I can tell you this from a position where I worked with the USA network. I worked directly with Bonnie Hammer. She was the female version of Vince McMahon. She knew what she was doing. When you had Bonnie Hammer at USA and Vince McMahon, the sky was the limit. If TNA signs another deal with Spike TV great for them. It will move along for another two years and everyone will work but the product will not grow on Spike TV. My hope for TNA is that a new network comes along and embraces TNA and gives them the time and investment to help grow the product. I can't say this enough. TNA on Spike TV will never grow."

Whether or not Spike TV was a good partner for TNA is up for debate, but the two sides will part ways come 2015.
