While the Arizona Cardinals are celebrating an 18-17 come-from-behind Week 1 victory over the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football, not everyone associated with the team is happy. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald's father, Larry Fitzgerald Sr., took to Twitter to criticize the fact that his son wasn't targeted much in the triumph.

The younger Fitzgerald, once the most dynamic part of the Cardinals' offense, finished with just one catch for just 22 yards Monday night. The leading receiver in franchise history was only targeted four times by quarterback Carson Palmer, who threw the ball 37 times.

Fitzgerald didn't say anything critical afterward, but his father, however, wasn't quite as silent on Twitter.

"Being a receiver you can work hard run all game and [you're] dependent on the coach calling your number. And the quarterback getting you the ball," the elder Fitzgerald wrote on Twitter.

He later added: "The world saw on Monday Night Football the politics and business of football. If [it's] been decided that you are not getting the ball just win."

Fitzgerald will always be heralded in Cardinals' lore for his past successes, but Palmer has a lot of weapons to turn to now, including Michael Floyd, who led the team in receiving yards a season ago.

Floyd had a big 63-yard reception Monday night against San Diego and finished with five catches for 119 yards.

Another weapon at Palmer's disposal is John Brown, who scored the go ahead touchdown for Arizona on a 13-yard pass from the signal caller while Andre Ellington has been a versatile threat on the ground and in the air.

Palmer finished 24-for-37 on Opening Night for 304 yards with two passing touchdowns and no interceptions, which made for a pretty successful evening despite the quarterback not targeting Fitzgerald much.

The Cardinals enter a season where they are trying to avoid missing the playoffs for the fifth straight year and will also look to build on a solid 10-6 finish to 2013, which means Fitzgerald isn't the go-to guy in Arizona anymore now that several weapons surround Palmer.

The Cardinals next visit the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. for Week 2 action.

Fitzgerald, drafted third overall by Arizona in the 2004 NFL Draft, has 847 receptions in 157 games entering his 11th year with the Cardinals for 11,389 yards and 87 touchdowns.
