Now that he's a member of the New York Jets, Eric Decker isn't exactly rooting for his old team despite the fact that he says he harbors no ill-will toward the Denver Broncos.

Decker went to the Super Bowl with the Broncos last season in what was a lopsided 43-8 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but he moved on to the Jets this offseason and told ESPN Radio that when it comes to the Broncos, he roots for whoever is playing them.

"I'm rooting for the other team," Decker told The Michael Kay Show. "You gotta have a little sting, of course."

Decker also added that he has "nothing against" the Broncos, but he will not be rooting for his former team even if and when it has no bearing on his current one.

Decker, 27, signed a five-year $36.25 million contract with $15 million guaranteed to play for the Jets after the Broncos failed to offer him a contract this offseason after he posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in Denver.

Denver brought in Emmanuel Sanders to replace Decker and to add to an already stacked offensive arsenal for quarterback Peyton Manning to throw to.

The Broncos opened up the Sunday Night Football 2014 slate this weekend with a 31-24 victory over Manning's old team, the Indianapolis Colts, while Decker and the Jets notched a Week 1 win of their own hours earlier with a 19-14 triumph over the Oakland Raiders at MetLife Stadium.

While Decker doesn't root for his old team, he wasn't too shy to admit he watched them Sunday night.

"I think it was more weird [watching them] in the preseason, just the first couple of games I guess seeing the guys that you played with and you buckled up with the last couple seasons -- four seasons for me -- but now it's not," Decker said. "Not that I have anything against Denver or anything because I had such great teammates and such great respect for everyone in that organization, but you find yourself rooting for the other team."

Decker believed that the offense looked good, even without him in the lineup.

"It was a good ballgame. Indianapolis came back and challenged them, but Denver looked really efficient offensively."

Decker, who had 87 receptions for 1,288 yards last season in Denver with 11 touchdowns, had five catches in his Jets debut Sunday for 74 yards while he's still in search of his first touchdown in green and white.

Decker certainly won't be rooting for the Broncos when they pay a visit to the Jets at MetLife Stadium for Week 6 action on Oct. 12.
