In what is likely a classic case of miscommunication, there are reportedly many fans that believe John Cena took a shot at The Undertaker during his promo with Paul Heyman on Monday Night RAW that built up his main event with Brock Lesnar at Night of Champions on Sept. 21 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Updated Night of Champions Card And Rumors

Cena was talking about facing Lesnar again just a month after being dominated at SummerSlam, and he mentioned how Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX and six months later no one has heard from the "Dead Man."

Cena then added that Lesnar beat him at SummerSlam and he came back the next week ready to fight. Many fans saw this as a dig at The Undertaker as Cena basically said that 'Taker lost to Lesnar and fell off the face of the earth while Cena proved how tough he was by coming back to battle Lesnar right after being dominated.

The Undertaker was then trending on Twitter after the segment with many people believing that Cena essentially buried him on live television. It is likely that Cena was just looking to put himself over for the match and that he didn't mean for it to come off as The Undertaker looking weak, but many fans took it as such.

The Undertaker has been wrestling one match a year for several years now as he came back annually to defend his undefeated streak at WrestleMania, but The Streak is now over after the WWE shocked the world by having Lesnar defeat 'Taker at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

The Undertaker's in-ring future is in doubt now as there are rumors that he may retire since he sustained legitimate injuries during the match and because The Streak is now dead.

The WWE used the momentum from that monumental win to have Lesnar dominate John Cena at SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles by hitting him with 16 German suplexes and following it up with one final thunderous F-5 en route to winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Now, the two will cross paths one more time as "The Beast" goes toe-to-toe with the face of the WWE live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville at Night of Champions on Sept. 21.
