Serena Williams took home the U.S. Open title on the women’s side of the draw and now the men will have their go as No. 10 Kei Nishikori takes on No. 14 Marin Cilic in a match no one saw coming.

Serena topped her good friend No. 10 Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to earn her 18th grand slam title. Williams spoke about the accomplishment as soon as the match was over.

"It is a pleasure for me to win my first Grand Slam here and then this No. 18," Williams said, her voice choking. "So I'm really emotional. I couldn't ask to do it at a better place.”

On the men’s side, both Nishikori and Cilic come into this match coming off huge wins against No. 1 Novak Djokovic and No. 2 Roger Federer respectively. These two unlikely foes will face off at 5:00 p.m. ET on Monday for the right to be named U.S. Open champion.
