WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will take on John Cena at Night of Champions on Sept. 21 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and backstage news on the specifics of his schedule has come to the surface.

WWE Congratulates Michael Sam, Invites Him To Future RAW

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the WWE is able to book Lesnar as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion for RAW and pay-per-view events when they feel like using him and want him on television.

While in the past, Lesnar's events and appearances were planned out months in advance, there is an agreement where the WWE can increase Lesnar's appearances on a pro-rate basis.

Lesnar is a part-time WWE employee, but the company may ramp up his appearances and dates now that he is the champion. Lesnar defeated Cena in dominant fashion at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Aug. 17 at SummerSlam and notched the win after hitting 16 German suplexes and an F-5.

Lesnar hasn't physically appeared on RAW since the Aug. 18 episode from Las Vegas on the night after the biggest event of the summer, but the company filmed some vignettes backstage that night and aired one of them on the Aug. 25 episode of the flagship program.

Lesnar has been rumored to keep the title as a part-time talent until WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015 where the current plan is reportedly for him lose to Roman Reigns.

Reigns is expected to win the Royal Rumble match in January and go on to unseat a dominant Lesnar as champion at the biggest show of the year.

It remains to be seen how the storylines will pan out, but it seems as though Lesnar may appear on RAW more frequently now that he is the WWE Champion.

Lesnar and Cena go head-to-head one more time at Night of Champions on Sept. 21 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
