The WWE is likely to announce soon that Dolph Ziggler will defend his Intercontinental Championship against The Miz on Sept. 21 at Night of Champions live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Ziggler will be a guest on MizTV on Tuesday night's edition of Main Event and it is likely that the match will be made during that segment. Ziggler defeated The Miz to win the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The Miz picked up a pinfall on Ziggler Monday night when he snuck up from behind and hit the Skull Crushing Finale on him during a tag match that pit Miz and Cesaro against Ziggler and WWE United States Champion Sheamus on Monday Night RAW.

Once The Miz and Ziggler is made official, it will be the third match added to the card along with the U.S. Championship match between Sheamus and Cesaro and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship contest pitting Brock Lesnar against the challenger John Cena in a rematch from SummerSlam.

Other rumored matches for the Sept. 21 event are a WWE Tag Team Championships match that will see The Usos defend against Stardust and Goldust and a bout between Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt, which would be the third straight pay-per-view clash between the two.

Jericho defeated Wyatt at Battleground on July 20 and Wyatt then topped Jericho at SummerSlam, so Night of Champions could prove to be the rubber match between the two. The status for that match is up in the air now that it has been revealed that the two will battle in a Steel Cage Match on RAW next Monday.

Night of Champions is less than two weeks away on Sept. 21 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
