Sam became the first openly gay player to be drafted to the NFL this May out of Missouri, but he was cut from the Rams this past weekend despite a solid preseason. Sam, who was taken in the seventh round in the 2014 NFL Draft, was not signed to the St. Louis practice squad after being cut.

The WWE is hoping that Sam will come to RAW next week live from the Baltimore Arena in Maryland and tell his side of things after being cut from the Rams and failing so far to become the first openly gay player to suit up for an NFL game.

Best WWE Moments In Summer Of 2014

The WWE is looking to stack next week's RAW due to the fact that the NFL will debut Week 1 of Monday Night Football for the 2014 season. The New York Giants will visit the Detroit Lions in a game that is sure to provide solid competition for RAW.

Bringing in Sam would add more intrigue to the episode while the WWE has already also announced a Steel Cage Match between Chris Jericho and Bray Wyatt and another SummerSlam rematch that will pit Roman Reigns against Randy Orton.

The WWE is trying to load up Monday's show in order to avoid its fans switching over to ESPN to watch the Monday night game.

With next week's episode airing just 13 nights before Night of Champions, it's sure to be a stacked show
