It has been reported that Hulk Hogan was hoping to have one more match at WrestleMania 31 against John Cena or "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and Hogan and Cena both recently conducted interviews while the "Cenation" leader talked about possibly facing the founder of "Hulkamania."

Bill Goldberg Discusses Sting's Role In WWE

Cena told The Miami Herald that he wasn't sure whether or not a match against Hogan would ever come to fruition, but he did say that his dream matches would be against Hogan, Austin or Sting.

"I do what I love, so when you wake up every day, it's not a job... A dream opponent for me would be Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan and Sting," Cena told the paper. "I'm not sure if I could ever get in the ring with any of them, but you have heard Hogan say in the past, if he had one last match, he would want it to be against me. I say as a Hulk-a-Maniac growing up that would be the biggest honor I've ever received."

Update On Daniel Bryan's Status For Another Surgery

Cena also spoke about new talents stepping up within the WWE as guys like Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns continue their ascent to the top of the roster.

"This is their moment. They have to do their best to capture it...It's been interesting to see the change in the business and how we recruit talent," he said. "The money and resources WWE has put forth with the Performance Center [in Orlando] shows they are absolutely serious about finding talent, recruiting them and making them the best they can be. This way when they are called up to appear on Monday Night RAWthey are ready to go."

Hogan, 61, also spoke to the publication and said that he'd like to have another match despite getting up there in age and it's possible that a farewell for the WWE Hall of Famer could happen next March at WrestleMania 31.

Hogan discussed the celebration of his 61st birthday on the Aug. 11 edition of Monday Night RAW that featured past legends celebrating with Hogan and was interrupted by the now WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.

"I got rattled when they played the package because I didn't know what they were going to do. Vince [McMahon] likes to do the sneaky stuff without telling me," Hogan told the publication. "I was rattled when I saw the package and really fell apart reflecting on that time. Everybody from [Ric] Flair to [Roddy] Piper to [Paul] Orndorff was supposed to come out and say stuff. Nobody got to say anything. When [Scott] Hall and [Kevin] Nash got to the ring WWE was saying no promos. No promos? I thought you had to have Hall's 'Hey Yo.' Then there had to be the transition to sing the birthday song to lead to [Brock] Lesnar coming out. The whole thing wasn't going down the way we thought it was, but we had some old pros in there to pull it off. It was very emotional."

McMahon then made an appearance when RAW went off the air, and Hogan discussed McMahon coming out and how surprised he was.

"I didn't expect that. Nobody told me that was going to happen," he said. "I thought Vince was for sure going to throw the cake at me, and I was going to dive into the cake, but he was cool. He gave me a big hug. It was just a great night. It really was."

While a Hogan vs. Cena match may never happen, it remains possible with Hogan a part of the WWE family again and Cena being willing to fulfill the matchup of perhaps the two most popular Superstars to ever grace a WWE ring.
