WWE Hall of Famer Jake "The Snake" Roberts is "awake" and "alert" but has been found to have a brain abnormality after he was hospitalized the past week.

The Wrestling News Source is reporting that these updates come from lawyer Kyle Magee, who sent a letter to wrestling journalist Bill Apter regarding updates on Roberts' health.

Magee, who also introduced himself as roommate and manager of Roberts, said that there is a mass discovered in the head of the WWE's resident reptile expert. He hinted there's reason to believe that this was due to all the bumps that Roberts had taken in his years as a pro wrestler. But he said Roberts has a neurologist who is still investigating.

"At this point, Jake's condition is not known completely. It will take some time to find out the answers," Magee said.

He also wrote: "Jake is awake and alert now. It will be his decision when to update the public from this point forward."

According to Magee, the wrestling legend was conscious on the flight and that he told flight attendants about the severe pain and shortness of breath he was suffering from. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital and put in an induced coma. Magee's version is contrary to earlier reports that Roberts collapsed on a plane.

But Magee confirmed earlier reports that Roberts had been ill for a week but was determined to perform at Sinn Bodhi's show in Las Vegas. During the flight, he suffered from severe pain and chest tightening. He also had problems breathing, and it was discovered that his lungs were barely functioning due to pneumonia.

Magee also clarified that drugs or alcohol have no bearing on this event despite the internet rumors. "Jake was doing great and received a clean bill of health on his PET scan after his leg cancer procedure in May. Hopefully that is still the case now."
