Georgetown sophomore All-American Otto Porter Jr. announced that he will forego his junior season and declare for the 2013 NBA Draft on Monday. Porter announced his decision at a news conference on campus Monday with Hoyas coach John Thompson III.

Porter was the Big East player of the year and finished second in the voting behind Michigan's Trey Burke for the Associated Press player of the year award. He is currently the fourth overall ranked prospect by ESPN.com's Chad Ford.

Porter led the previously unranked Hoyas to as high as the No. 5 ranking in the AP poll during the regular season. He averaged 16.2 points and 7.5 rebounds, both highs for the Hoyas.

Georgetown was a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament, but lost their opening game to cinderella story Florida Gulf Coast and finished 25-7. The 19-year old small forward scored 822 points and grabbed 457 rebounds in two seasons with the Hoyas.

Underclassmen and under-22 international players have until April 28 to declare for the NBA draft. The NBA Draft will take place on June 27, 2013.
