Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET the St. Louis Rams (1-2) will take on the Miami Dolphins (2-1) in a final preseason matchup that should give St. Louis a good glimpse at what is behind new starting quarterback Shaun Hill. Sam Bradford was supposed to use the 2014 season as a showcase for his viability as a franchise quarterback, but a second torn ACL has knocked him out for the season, and left the Rams in the lurch at QB.

Shaun Hill is the starter for Week 1, so he likely won't see much time tonight. Behind him on the depth chart are unheralded passers Austin Davis and rookie Garrett Gilbert.

St. Louis has been linked to trade rumors involving Mark Sanchez and the Philadelphia Eagles, but head coach Jeff Fisher has publically stated the team's intentions are to stick with Hill.

"Shaun is our guy," Fisher said. "We brought him here. He's got experience. We've got all the confidence in the world in him. We have, around our quarterback position now, probably as good of talent as we've had since we came here. Shaun is excited about that, and I know we'll benefit from that."

Fisher went on to refute rumors that the Rams were calling teams and inquiring about available quarterbacks.

"I've heard that there's speculation that we've been on the phone, and that's not true," he said. "Doesn't mean to say that we won't, but we haven't done it at this point. We'll get together as an organization and see, but right now keep in mind these guys understand our system."

Fisher praised Davis and Gilbert too, saying they've got good understandings of the offense.

"Shaun's ready to play. [Backup Austin Davis] can come off the bench and play if need be, and [reserve] Garrett [Gilbert] for that matter has had a good camp."
