The Houston Rockets have been in the market for a franchise point guard for several seasons now, but could they be ignoring the top remaining guard in free agency?

Rockets Chase Ramon Sessions; Rondo Deal Dead?

The Rockets have been tied to trade rumors that include Rajon Rondo and Ramon Sessions, but they are ignoring the huge potential of adding restricted free agent Eric Bledsoe. According to Patrick Harrel of SB Nation’s The Dream Shake, the Rockets should start chasing Bledsoe due to his fit in what Houston is trying to achieve with their current roster.

“Eric Bledsoe fits the Rockets extremely well. He's an athletic specimen, excellent in transition and with the potential to be a terror defensively. When he is clicking, he is one of the best in the league on the defensive end, and a combination of him and Beverley at the point guard spot would help James Harden out tremendously with defensive responsibilities.”

The potential deal that could get Bledsoe to Houston is one based on shedding as much salary as possible, while still giving the Suns plenty of talent in return. The Rockets would have to part with players such as Alonzo Gee and Scotty Hopson while also accepting the $4.8 million salary of Kostas Papanikolaou.

T-Wolves, Suns Discussing Ricky Rubio Trade?

Those players, as well as the Rockets current slate of draft picks, including a first round pick in 2015 from the Pelicans, could make the Suns consider the offer. Nothing concrete has occurred between the Rockets and Suns as of yet, but the thought of Bledsoe playing point guard on a team that has Dwight Howard and James Harden would frighten most teams.

Bledsoe and the Suns have come nowhere close to an agreement in contract talks and the Suns have been clear they will not offer him the max contract he is seeking. If the Rockets and Suns can come to an agreement on the price, Bledsoe could get the max contract he is seeking with the Houston Rockets.
