The Jets will see a familiar face on the opposing sideline when they lay eyes on Eagles backup quarterback Mark Sanchez. Once nicknamed "The Sanchize," Sanchez led the Jets to two AFC Championship appearances despite pedestrian stats, before he and the team fell off.

He spent all of 2013 on injured reserve after hurting his shoulder in the preseason, and was let go this offseason. He's looked good with Philadephia, however, and all of a sudden he's a valuable commodity with some teams featuring shaky QB situations.

"I knew that as soon as I got healthy, I know what my abilities are," Sanchez said earlier in the week. "I'm the most confident guy, no matter what's happened to me. So I know I can play in this league. Won a ton of games. Been in a lot of tough situations and done really well and done really poorly. Won big games. Lost big games. I've just about seen it all."

He clearly enjoys playing for Eagles coach Chip Kelly as well, saying "I knew a fresh start might be good. And it's proved to be that way so far, but I've still got a long way to go."

His rapport with the Eagles hasn't halted trade rumors though-after Sam Bradford tore his ACL the Rams were linked to Sanchez. Currently journeyman Shaun Hill is slated to open the year under center.

"Those are just issues of the day, fun things for you guys to think about," Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said. "Mark was in the meeting today. Those aren't my decisions."
