There have been rumors that Batista may be parting ways with the WWE to pursue acting full-time after the success of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and there are new reports as to why the WWE chose not to promote the film.

John Cena Reportedly Dealing With Serious Injuries

PWInsider reports that a source within the WWE said that the company chose to ignore Batista's involvement in the movie because as it came out he wasn't on their television shows as a performer. There have been some concerns backstage that "The Animal" may leave after experiencing so much success with the blockbuster movie.

Batista took a hiatus from the WWE by "quitting" the company on the June 2 edition of Monday Night RAW and there are reports that now he won't return to action after there was initial speculation that he'd be back by last Sunday's SummerSlam, which obviously didn't happen.

According to the new reports, the producers of Guardians of the Galaxy didn't want to buy advertising from the WWE for the movie either, which is another reason why the organization -- which promotes just about everything possible on its weekly shows -- didn't plug the movie or Batista's involvement.

There is another source who said that the reason Marvel didn't reach out to the WWE for advertising is because they didn't want the film to become a "wrestler movie."

These reports also coincide with the rumors that Batista will not be returning to the company as another reason the WWE may have decided not to make mention of the film is due to the fact that its leading to Batista staying away from the WWE and potentially opting not to return.

Batista, 45, played Drax the Destroyer in the movie, and his status with the WWE was a hot topic backstage at the company's live events this past weekend. Batista may not want to risk any injuries by returning to the WWE as it could compromise his chances of getting more roles.

"The Animal" returned to the WWE in January of this year on a part-time deal that was reportedly quite lucrative. There were reports that Batista was originally slated to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX, but plans were changed, much to his chagrin.

With Batista not getting the reaction from the fans that the WWE expected after he won the 2014 Royal Rumble match mixed with the growing popularity of Daniel Bryan, the WWE changed the storyline and the planned singles match between Batista and Randy Orton became a triple threat with Bryan added in, and Bryan left the Show of Shows with the title.

Batista was reportedly upset about being promised certain things and not getting them upon his return, but he worked the rest of his schedule anyway, making appearances at Extreme Rules and Payback where Evolution was on the losing end of six-man tag matches with the now-defunct Shield.

Batista was then written off of television on June 2 on the night after Payback to promote the movie.

With Batista's status up in the air and the WWE not promoting his movie, there could very well be a disconnect between the two sides.
